Drawings are a new addition to the website. They are all part of a series called “Other Lives” because each one began life as an inkjet print of an early stage of an oil painting. I take photos of my paintings many times throughout the process of making them. When I looked back at some of the early stages, I began to wonder how the painting would have been different if I had taken it in another direction. Printing them and drawing over them with colored pencil and gouache allowed me to find out. Almost none of the original print remains. All are 8.5” x 11” or smaller and on archival paper.
